UNETE Foundation, in collaboration with the Consulate of the Dominican Republic in New Jersey and the NJCEED program, hosts a free health fair in Paterson.

Paterson, NJ — October 11, 2025

With a strong commitment to bringing preventive health care to the most vulnerable communities, UNETE Foundation, in collaboration with the Consulate of the Dominican Republic in New Jersey and the NJCEED (New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection) program, held a successful Free Health Fair in the city of Paterson, New Jersey.

During the event, more than 100 residents received free medical services, including preventive screenings for breast cancer, cervical cancer, prostate cancer, and colorectal cancer, as well as early detection tests for chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.

The fair also featured the participation of several organizations offering social services and community resources, reaffirming the importance of inter-institutional collaboration to improve access to health care in minority communities.

The event was honored by the presence of the Consul of the Dominican Republic in New Jersey, Mr. José Santana Suriel, who was recognized by a group of women beneficiaries of UNETE Foundation, grateful for his support and solidarity in providing a dignified space where the community can receive timely and free medical attention.

“Each person who receives a preventive exam represents an opportunity to save a life. This joint effort shows what we can achieve when sectors come together for the well-being of our people,” said Dr. Irma Hernández, President of UNETE Foundation.

UNETE Foundation extends its gratitude to the Consulate of the Dominican Republic, the NJCEED program, and all the doctors, volunteers, and partners who made this humanitarian effort possible.
