UNETE Foundation Signs Historic Agreement with Hackensack Meridian Health to Open First Health Office in February in Paterson, New Jersey.

UNETE, the organization committed to bringing preventive health care to vulnerable Hispanic communities in the United States, signed a historic agreement today with Hackensack Meridian Health and the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Paterson, New Jersey, to open its first health office in February. This space will offer free services for women, focusing on the prevention and diagnosis of breast and cervical cancer.

The Consul General of the Dominican Republic, Mr. José Santana, announced during the ceremony that the consulate’s facilities will be made available to house the health office. With this contribution, the consulate reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of Dominican and Latino communities in the region.

The signing of the agreement was attended by representatives from the consulates of Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and El Salvador in New Jersey and New York, as well as doctors and executives from Hackensack Meridian Health. During the event, the director of UNETE highlighted:
“This agreement is an example of how cross-sector collaboration can transform lives. We are deeply grateful to the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic and Hackensack Meridian Health for joining our mission to ensure access to health for those who need it most.”

Dr. Patricia Campos Medina, recognized for her leadership in community health, was also highlighted for her valuable donation of medical equipment, which will enable the office to provide high-quality services.

The project will focus on serving Latina women who face economic and cultural barriers to receiving preventive health care. The collaboration between UNETE, Hackensack Meridian Health, and the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic represents a significant step toward health equity in the region.

The official opening of the office is scheduled for February, with an event that will bring together community leaders, local business owners, and media outlets.
